"Numb" reflects my journey of healing, exploring the need for both physical and emotional restoration. While physical healing can leave scars, emotional healing is a complex process that often revisits the original pain—a theme central to my work.
Participating in an exhibit at the McColl Center in Charlotte, NC, in response to events on September 11, 2001, allowed me to examine visual evidence of healing and the act of covering wounds. Drawing inspiration from the striking images of twisted steel rebar from that day, I merged human and architectural forms, creating an inverted, human-like form supported by the building's infrastructure.
